Sad news for the Brew today: former professional boxer Vernon “The Viper” Forrest was killed last night in a robbery gone bad.
Police say Forrest stopped at a gas station in Atlanta to put air in his tires when a man approached and robbed him at gunpoint. Forrest –who was also carrying a gun- chased the man and the two exchanged shots.
The 38 year old recent WBC junior middleweight champ was then shot 7 times in the BACK (what a punk move).
The 11 year old son of Forrest’s girlfriend was also at the gas station at the time of the robbery. He was able to give police a description of the shooter.
Police are looking for the shooter and a second suspect who are believed to be riding in a red Monte Carlo.
