To answer the question...I don't know if I'd go as far as "hate herself". But she CLEARLY has low self-esteem if you have paid any attention to her personal life and decisions. Weave, fake hair and other artificial means of augmentation to the physical were started in large part in Europe, and became a mainstay due to an unhappiness with one's self and a desire to look like others who were said to be beautiful. In terms of hair, white women have been doing it for so many centuries it's almost immeasurable.

Jessica is NOT a natural blonde. She, like so many other women in society, aspire to what has been determined to be the ultimate look of beauty...which is a very fake, mostly unattainable (by natural means), recessive-trait look. Rather than simply bask in the beauty of HERSELF and work with what she has, she is yet ANOTHER victim of lack of self-worth and the weakness of succumbing to others opinions.

She's not different than Beyonce in this hair example. The difference with women of color is that very often they are subscribing to a European sense of beauty and not even realizing it. They don't have the knowledge of self to ask themselves why they think long, stringy fake hair makes them MORE beautiful than their wonderful, naturally given curly hair, or why they're natural black and brown hair doesn't need yellow and/or red highlights, something that most Black, Latina and Asian women cannot have in the normal course of nature.

White women are the original brainwashed women...their men have sold them a crock of crap that the most recessive, mutated genetics are the most beautiful, which combats the normal image of most of the Earth's women. Wait a minute - the genetic MUTATIONS and rarities are where's it's at, NOT what nature gives most women? Preposterous. In the animal kingdom, animals don't run towards the albino animals or rarities of the species over the stronger, dominant traited.

One must ask themselves WHY this is. I know...but the answer is deeper and more controversial than I should post hear on this particular blog. But in terms of Jessica Simpson - she's an easily controlled bubblehead who is used as a tool to propagate a standard of beauty that is out of whack with nature. But, to be honest, being that she's white, I don't care as much as I do about Black and Latina women...since I myself am half Black, half Latino.
