Word on the curb is that the Magic Man may be acquiring Ebony and Jet magazines. Both mags have seen its readership dwindle over the years which is surprising because what Grandma's house doesn't have a dusty stack of old ass Jets piled up in the corner? Johnson Publishing Chairman and CEO Linda Johnson Rice has denied reports of the takeover. Say when you want about his speaking skills, it's no big secret that Magic Johnson has business acumen. He owns a host of 24-hour Fitness Worldwide Gyms, some T.G.I. Friday's, movie theaters and a Starbucks. This would be Magic's first foray into media. He's also reportedly in talks to buy the Fashion Fair cosmetic line. I can't co-sign on that move because I haven't rocked anything Fashion Fair since Fuschia Plum lipstick back in the 80s and we see what that cake batter did to Jermaine Jackson grill but maybe his wife Cookie can come in and remix the brand a bit.
