Allen Iverson's Wife Files For Divorce

Allen Iverson's been in the news more these last two weeks for his off-court activity than we've heard of his on-the-court feats in months. And today, the news got even worse for him.

Iverson's wife, Tawanna, filed for divorce in Atlanta this week, claiming the marriage is "irretrievably broken." The two have been married for nearly 9 years and have five children, ranging in age from 17 months to 15 years.

The news comes the same week the Philadelphia 76ers announced Iverson would not return to the team this season. Iverson took a leave of absence to be with his sick 4 year old daughter, Messiah.

Tawanna asked for temporary and permanent custody of the children, child support and alimony but she did not list a specific dollar amount.  She also wants an equitable division of marital assets and for Allen to pay all attorney fees.  While I'm certainly surprised she stuck it out this long, is anyone else thinking this break up might get nasty?  Hope not.

It’s A Wrap For Allen Iverson?

Allen Iverson is taking an indefinite leave from the Philadelphia 76ers to handle a serious family matter. Iverson’s 4 year old daughter, Messiah, has a mysterious illness that, so far, doctors have been unable to diagnose.

Iverson’s family lives in Atlanta. Doctors there are running tests on Messiah but they’ve all come back negative. Iverson plans to bring his daughter to Philly for more testing.

Iverson will miss the next 3 games, but the Sixers are calling the leave “indefinite.” Sources say the Sixers are ready to be done with A.I. Regardless of what happens with his NBA career, I sure hope his daughter gets well!

Welcome back to the City of Brotherly Thug....

I swear these athletes don't know how to bow our gracefully. The Philadelphia Sixers have resigned Allen Iverson. Iverson reportedly accepted a one-year, non-guarantee contract with the Sixers who by the way have the third worst record in the NBA. The Sixers drafted Iverson back in '96 and he played 10 years for them before being traded to...who cares? Isn't this like the old man in the club who refuses to get off the dance floor? Peep Ann's son talking some ign'ant shyt during a presser after someone made the mistake and asked him about practicing.
