Spaceballs!

Bad weather forced NASA officials to nix Monday's fifth attempt to launch Space Shuttle Endeavour. The space crew responded by starting a riot on the launch pad because they had to take off that heavy ass space suit! Okay the last part was a joke but that's what I would be doing. Now, I know I'm just a tiny blip on the radar of life but please someone explain why we stay trying to blast off into space when we've got some Jupiter-sized issues right on Earth? The U.S. spends 14.4 billion dollars a year on space exploration. How about we take those billions and fix the economy? Or, help the homeless? Maybe fix the jacked up prison system? Shit save a whale! How many struggling families could we help? How many college students could get off the pole if their tuition was paid? Okay, that was a bit extreme but you get the point. It just never made sense how much money is poured into space exploration. Frankly, I don't care if water is on Mars. Or if Pluto isn't really Pluto and I'm not an 'ignant person. I'm worried about how much money is in my checking account when I go to Trader Joe's on a empty stomach and end up spending way too much on Blood Orange Soda and Argula! I realize it's not that easy but this just seems backwards as fuck.
