FREAKNIK: The remix?

That wild and crazy festival that attracted thousands of students from historically black colleges and the streets during the 90s is reportedly trying to make a comeback. Seems as though there is a website dubbed "FREAKNIK Atlanta" which states that the event will be held April 16-18th, but city leaders say don’t break out your booty shorts yet because no one has filed for a permit for any public events on those dates. I couldn't find the website either. FREAKNIK started as a small celebration in 1983 and grew to a thousand strong smorgasbord of coloreds convening in the streets with booty shorts and Boa Constrictors. The event caused major gridlock and basically grew too big for police to contain so they SHUT IT DOWN in 1999.

Apparently the promoter who has been on the news alot recently chose private venues for his events therefore he didn't need a permit.

folks are not feeling it and I seriously doubt it will pop off, BUT you never know around here. I'm staying HOME!
