FREAKNIK: The remix?

That wild and crazy festival that attracted thousands of students from historically black colleges and the streets during the 90s is reportedly trying to make a comeback. Seems as though there is a website dubbed "FREAKNIK Atlanta" which states that the event will be held April 16-18th, but city leaders say don’t break out your booty shorts yet because no one has filed for a permit for any public events on those dates. I couldn't find the website either. FREAKNIK started as a small celebration in 1983 and grew to a thousand strong smorgasbord of coloreds convening in the streets with booty shorts and Boa Constrictors. The event caused major gridlock and basically grew too big for police to contain so they SHUT IT DOWN in 1999.

Per his tweets, it looks like he was initally on board, but started witnessing this spiral into Klan rally entertainment, and pulled out. (Hee... that sounds durty!) Thank goodness...I can still GIDP (GET IN DEM PANTS)!!

Will You Watch?: Lil Wayne As Jesus

Lil Wayne already thinks he's "saving" Hip Hop...so, what's next?  Well, naturally, he's got plans to play Jesus.  Seriously.

Weezy will voice the role of Jesus in T-Pain's new animated series for Adult Swim called "Freaknik."  The show is about Atlanta's old freak-fest of the same name.  It'll star T-Pain, Wayne and other artists (including David Banner).  T-Pain plays the ghost of Freaknik.  Wayne will appear in "Ghetto Commandments," the animated music video for the show.

“Freaknik" airs March 21st on Comedy Central.  So, will you watch?

I'm thinking... White Jesus may take issue with this one.
