Tweets Earn Mark Cuban A Hefty NBA Fine...

I love basketball! and I also love any player that is weird or nutso, doesn't have to be them directly, could be a good friend or close relative (Alan Iverson's mom for instance). So you can imagine my heart leaps for joy at Mark Cuban's antics, he's insane and I love it. It shows passion, the man rides hard for his team and you gotta respect that.

I am still getting acquainted with Twitter, don't fully get it yet or it's relevance, but I haven't ruled it out just yet. Seems though, that Mark got himself in a heap of trouble for some twitter updates in reference to league officiating in a recent Maverick lost. Gotta love this nutjob, he's my fav! Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban Fined for Twitter Comments

The NBA's true maverick has been fined $25,000 for his recent comments on Twitter. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban recently used the social networking tool to voice his anger at league officiating after Friday's loss to the Denver Nuggets. Cuban's "tweets" referred to an altercation between Nuggets player J. R. Smith and Mavs player Antoine Wright.

First post (7:25 p . m . , March 27):

how do they not call a tech on JR Smith for coming off the bench to taunt our player on the ground ?

Second post (10 minutes later):

scary part of that play: Same crew chief from game in Denver where they missed call - last play of the game & 1st JRSmith/Wright issue.

Third post (over the weekend):

just found out got fined25k by nba.) nice

Fourth post (over the weekend):

can't say no one makes money from twitter now. the nba does )

Fifth post (yesterday):

how much fun would it be if it could twitter whatever i wanted during mavs game. Fun, but expensive :).

Sixth post (yesterday):

Maybe I should set up an "incogtweeto" account. Think they would figure out it was me. Yeah, my lousy grammar would bust me :)

After the Mavericks visited Denver in January, Cuban was fined $25,000 for his outbursts over a foul that wasn't called on Smith.

Cuban is no stranger to controversy; his criticisms of league officiating have been widely reported. Following the Mavericks' loss to the Miami Heat in game 5 of the 2006 NBA finals, Cuban was fined $250,000 by the NBA for repeated misconduct.

Although 25K might not be much to this dot-com billionaire, it might do the entire team good if he discontinued his Twitter account indefinitely.
