Brew News: Steve McNair/Sahel Kazemi Text Messages Released

Nashville police have released the text messages between Steve and his mistress the night before they were found dead in her condo.  She seems to have been on edge about some bills that she was having problems payinig, I guess Dave & Busters doesn't pay as much as we thought. What a mess, all I can say is at least he was concerned about his babies........ beyond that, I got nothin. Go here for more text messages between the two from the day before.

Investigators think there is something weird about the  last text message because it's out of sequence. It was received by McNair’s phone at 2:23 a.m. but on Kazemi’s phone, there was no time stamp on the message.

Another Steve McNair Controversy

Another day, another controversy.

A Mississippi woman claims Steve McNair is her babydaddy and she wants a piece of his estate.  Clover Lee claimed in court documents filed Friday that McNair is the biological father of her 17 year old daughter, identified only as "J. N. L."  Lee says the girl should be included as an heir to McNair's estate.  You'll recall McNair was gunned down in July and left no will.  His estate valued at $19.6 million.

Meantime, there's news in the murder investigation.  CBS News reports there are doubts about the police department's conclusion that McNair's distraught girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, shot him then killed herself.  Those closest to Kazemi say they find that ruling impossible to believe.  Her family members don't think Kazemi was capable of carrying out the act.  They claim she was too positive of a person to kill.  But police say she simply lost it due to the stress of the relationship with McNair.

CBS reports police made crucial mistakes in their timeline of when Kazemi allegeldy bought the gun used in their deaths.  Unreleased surveillance footage shows Kazemi in jail the night of her DUI arrest, and even in jail she appears happy...even fixing one woman's hair!  Investigators also say she had enough money in her bank account to cover her bills, which counters the claim that Kazemi panicked because she couldn't cover her rent and car notes.

Like Seriously, They Were Gonna Do This???

Six Flags in Ohio was planning to showcase a Halloween display that depicted Steve McNair and the mistress who murdered him three months ago. I mean seriously???

"When the gates open for the start of our Halloween Haunt event on Friday," said park spokesman Don Helbig, "park visitors will not find a depiction of Steve McNair in any scenes." Other celebrities included are Michael Jackson in pajamas, Health Ledger with pill bottles and Sonny Bono on skis. "You're gonna see Ted Kennedy, Ed McMahon and there's still other ones yet to be placed," Helbig told the local news station who broke the story.

Steve McNair Leaves No Will.....

Ok this will be the last Steve McNair entry. In my opinion humans will be humans. None of us knows why he was cheating on Mechelle or anything that was in his head for that matter. But this goes not for just the Steve McNairs of the world but for the regular Joe's too. Cheat responsibly! Your car could run off the road on your secret get away vacation with your side boo and if you don't have your affairs in order your wife/family has to deal with all that and sort through a bunch of financial ish that shoulda been a matter you handled as a responsible family man. We just really need to get our shit in order. Cheat if you must but handle what needs to be handled.... geesh!

UPDATE: Tennessee police have now confirmed that Steve McNair’s 20 year old girlfriend killed him before killing herself. Sahel Kazemi's motive may never be known but her friends say she may have been upset over financial problems and suspicion McNair was seeing someone else. Kazemi was trying, but unsuccessful, at selling her car. Her roommate was also moving out, so the rent would be all on her shoulders.

Kazemi’s family says she was sure McNair would divorce his wife. So much so, that she was planning to sell her belongings and move in with him.

Police think McNair was asleep on the couch when Kazemi killed him, then shot herself.

Word on the curb is the wife of slain former NFL quarterback Steve McNair did not know of his affair with 20 year old Sahel Kazemi.

Mike Mu, a man who has worked with McNair’s charity, says Mechelle McNair did not know who Kazemi was until she heard the young woman was found dead in the same condo as her husband over the weekend.

McNair was brutally gunned down by 4 shots (2 to his chest and 2 to the dome) and Kazemi died of a single gunshot wound to the head.


The medical examiner says the deaths were 95% likely a murder-suicide (though police have yet to announce a confirmation). Officials say Kazemi was found face down with the gun under her. The autopsy found she shot herself once and fell face down at the feet of McNair (that's tragically poetic) who was dead on the couch. Kazemi had reportedly just bought the gun used in the shooting.

Mechelle has made no public comments about the deaths but friends say she has been distraught and “in and out” of it since the shootings. Meanwhile, Kazemi’s family tells a different story. They say McNair was due to divorce Mechelle and start a new life with Kazemi.

Mechelle is the mother of two of McNair’s four sons. They married in 1997 and were reportedly on the market for a new home.

McNair will be laid to rest on Saturday in Mississippi.

Reading all the blogs and all the details of the affair Steve McNair was having with Sahel Kazemi



makes it hard to not be left wondering when people (not just men) will stop the foolishness. Though it hasn't been confirmed that his death is a result of a lovers spat that resulted in a murder-suicide, all things seem to point in that direction. Is it really that serious? Do you seriously buy condos and Escalades for a child you met in Dave & Busters where you took your family on outtings? If you really feel this strong urge to relish a young, hot, exotic-ish chick here's a novel idea.... leave your wife,right??? I know people will say "it's not that easy" but in reality, isn't it? If you can no longer honor your marriage, end it! There are consequnces to every choice we make in this life. Steve has unfortunately learned that the hard way. I'm sure in the coming weeks details will continue to unfold as we get to the bottom of what really happened but the affair is obvious. We all make mistakes, no one is perfect and he certainly did not deserve to die because of his but it's just such a shame. I'm sure he'd much rather be alive figuring out custody and alimony then lifeless in the dirt. Ideally we want marriage to be forever, there is no reason to move forward with it if you don't feel this way but every person has a right to say "hey babe, I think I might want out". I suppose that is the mature and kind way to go about it and I just wonder why it rarely happens that way....

Besides, doesn't anybody watch 'Snapped'??? I'm sayin...... it's real in the field people.

R.I.P.: Steve McNair

NFL football great Steve "Air" McNair, 36, was shot to death Saturday. Police discovered his body along with the unidentified body of a female in a Nashville apartment. The woman was not McNair wife. McNair played for the Tennessee Titans for 11 years. He retired before the 2003 football season. Police are investigating. R.I.P.
