Jennifer Hudson Drops The Weight, Picks Up A Job

Jennifer Hudson is the new face and body for Weight Watchers. Effie White J-Hud has dropped more than 50 pounds since giving birth to her son David, Jr. last summer. Jennifer decided to make the change when she didn't recognize herself in the mirror anymore. Like most of us curvy chicks, Jennifer says she liked her lady lumps but she needed to push back from the table a bit.
"How can I make a better me, or grow or do some changes, anything, just experiment, because I have me back now. And then at the same time, having the baby ... it's like, OK, this is a good way of how I would want my child to grow up, because so many times in growing up, you gain really bad habits ... so I want to make sure that he's going into this and I'm being a good example for him."
Jennifer’s fiancé David is also on the healthy tip. He’s now a wrestler for the WWE.

First Lady Covers Newsweek

First Lady Michelle Obama is on a mission to whip these chubbies into shape! She covers the March 22nd issue of Newsweek which includes an article she wrote herself (take dat, take dat trophy wives), titled “Michelle on a Mission.”

Mrs. Obama wants to get the word out about her "Let's Move" campaign to battle childhood obesity by helping families make “manageable changes that fit with their schedules, their budgets, and their needs and tastes.” She says her plan is about giving parents the info they need to eat healthier and incorporate exercise in their routines.

Our snazzy First Lady also wants grocery stores to do better at serving communities that don’t always have access to fresh produce.

BTW, for us fashion hounds, Lady O wears Narciso Rodriguez on the cover.

Go girl!

Thick’em FAIL!

Picture it. A group of Weight Watchers thick'ems who've been fighting the hard fight, rally to their weekly weigh-in… when all of a sudden… BAM!

In Sweden, a floor collapsed from under a group of about 20 people who'd gathered for a weighing event. The group said the floor gave out, then they smelled sewage throughout the area. Thankfully, no one was injured and they finished their weigh-in in another part of the building.

Weight Watchers said the cause of the collapse is being investigated.

Damn!

Tweet Your Weight

Twitter is the debbil (just ask Britney). First, they want you to tell where you are and what you're doing at every waking moment of the day. And now, they want you to tweet your weight? WTF!

The Withings WiFi Body Scale auto-tweets your weigh in along with the pounds you need to lose (or gain...lucky!) to reach your goal weight.  The scale also records your body mass index and can post it to a webpage or an iPhone app.

On an up note, you can join with your friends so you can keep track together, if you're doing the group weight loss thing.

Sure, weight is just a number. But I think I'll keep that to myself.

Real Talk Tuesdays: You Were Once PHAT, Now You're Just FAT.......

Do you call yourself thick and scrunch your face up in knots if you even think someone is suggesting that you're fat? Do you think something is wrong with your washing machine cause it's shrinking all your clothes? Do you think the people you see walking/jogging in the wee hours of the morn are plum crazy? Did you unbutton your jeans on the low on your last date so you could better enjoy your meal?? (I hope I'm not the only one who does this....)

You might be suffering from "Fat Ass Denial". But no worries! It afflicts everyone at some point in their life, even me! So this post is as much about me as it is about you. We always have your best interest at heart here at the Brew so there's no time like the present to remove yourself from that denial bubble and get crackin on a new, healthier you.

The holidays will be here soon, and if you're already bout to bust outta the size you're in now then the last thing you wanna do is continue adding to that. We have already offered some nutrition tips like starting your morning with a delicious green smoothie, work out DVD's with hot instructors like Shaun T, or maybe even switching to a completely raw diet.

Alls you gotta do is change lil things over time but your major rewards come with consistency, not starting and then stopping when you're not a size 2 in 6 weeks, it doesn't work like that. Another thing that doesn't work is trying to lose weight cause someone called you a fat ass. You get mad, stop eating, workout for 3 hours a day cause "you gon' learn they ass!" STOP RIGHT THERE!! #1, your ass IS fat, (he/she ain't have to get at you like that but truth is truth as they say) #2, revenge weight loss only works for like the first 3 days, after that you gotta be in it for you, cause you feel better, you feel lighter, you feel good being good to you. Fug that bamma who called you fat! He prolly got a lil peen anyways! (most of them do).

My poison of choice is walking/jogging. I'm not fast and have never been athletic in my life. But I gets my swole ass up and get it done! Consistently....... and I'm gonna keep doing it til my washing machine stops shrinking my clothes....... hee hee! :)

It shouldn't cost you 3 pay checks and your first born child either to get started. Pick something that you know you can stomach doing most days of the week, clean up that diet (cause you know you were dead ass wrong for making that 'Luther Burger' last night..) and stay focused and encouraged.

One of my absolute favorite online weight loss resources is Sparkpeople.com, you can set up a profile, enter your daily meals and get calorie calculations, write a daily blog, post progress pics, participate in the forums and get to know other people who are also improving their health.

Battle of The Re-donkulous Donk: Fat Burning Lip Balm

Because of a seemingly worldwide refusal to accept the fact that weight loss comes from not eating like an animal in the wild and moving your body, another asinine weight loss product has landed......Yup, the latest thing ya'll will be buying is this fat burning lip balm, Burner Balm that promises to help you lose weight by doing nothing more than greasin yo lips....

*Sigh*

It sounds like the perfect beauty product - a lip balm that suppresses appetite and boosts energy while keeping your pout in perfect condition.

But before you all rush at once girls, Burner Balm, which goes on sale in the UK this week, has been attacked by critics who have questioned the reliability of the fat-busting claims.

The makers of the £4.95 product say Burner Balm stops food cravings by suppressing the appetite and claims those who use it can lose between six and ten pounds without changing their diet.
