Haiti Aid: Big Biz Steps Up


US businesses are coming forth with donations of money and supplies for earthquake survivors in Haiti. Among the donors:

  • Bank of America – $1 million
  • Walmart Foundation – $600,000 ($500K in cash, $100K in food kits)
  • Coca-Cola – $1 million to the American Red Cross; donating bottled water and other beverages
  • UPS – $500,000 in cash and up to $500,000 in shipping services
  • Abbott Laboratories (drug maker) – $1 million in grant funding and donations of pharmaceutical & nutritional products
  • GoDaddy (web domain company) - $500,000
  • Kellogg - $250,000 to the American Red Cross
  • Western Union - $250,000; also not charging for wire transfers to Haiti
  • Walt Disney – $100,000 to the American Red Cross
  • Publix Supermarket – $100,000
  • Wells Fargo – $100,000
  • TD Bank Financial – $100,000
  • General Motors – $100,000
  • Kraft Foods – $25,000
  • Soles4Souls, Inc. – 100,000 pairs of shoes
