BET Bans A Video?

Well, well, well... looks like BET grew up and got some cojones (allegedly).

Word is the network has banned the new Teairra Mari (feat. Soulja Boy & Gucci Mane) video, "Sponsor," because it teaches girls to get showered with gifts and money by having sexual relations with men.

Teairra's people sent this letter over to The YBF:

I was informed that 106 and Park, a source for African Americans to promote their music, have banned Teairra Mari's song Sponsor and other projects from surfacing on their channel. No one else will report because they don't want to put it on blast. I feel bad for the underdogs because they are not given a fair chance and its even worse when your own kind won't promote you. What's bad about Sponsor that overshadows any work that Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and many others have showcased on BET? Why is it, do you think, that booty shaking and such is allowed but a video by a woman encouraging others to make it is bad. Why is it that Lil Wayne can perform "Every Girl In the World" with his daughter on stage, but women artists have to be "appropriate". I understand if they would at least let Teairra come on the show to explain the concept behind the song. It just seems like a shady business where people who have made it have certain control over those that haven't through shady connections.

Ok, so it does seem like there's a clear double standard going on here, but, where should BET start drawing the line with some morals? Which videos and overall messages should be banned and is this something BET should even do?

What's your call?

UPDATE: Teairra tweeted that her vid has NOT been banned from BET. Interesting turn of events. I find that rumors don't exist in a vacuum...so, stay tuned...

A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste: Case #4876

*Sigh*...this next post has a lot of ignorance and cornballs in it so please bear with me. I guess Soulja Boy and some other rapping dude named Arab who I never heard of pooled their new money together to buy rapper and dark-skinned allergen Young Berg's chain that was jacked a while back in Detroit. Not sure if this is the start of a beef between these some subpar rappers but really who cares? I beg Soulja Boy (@souljaboytellum) to stop "shooting YouTube up" and buying a bunch of nonsense and read an investment book beyatch!

Soulja Boy Tries To Prove He's Got Money

Soulja Boy just showed the world that he keeps thousands of dollars in jewels and designer handbags man-bags in his apartment. Not the brightest idea for someone who was robbed last year.

Soulja Boy posted the video in response to rumors he owes $10,000 to his landlord. Uh, why you got a LANDLORD if you've got chains worth hundreds of thousands of dollars? I'm just sayin'...

Sigh... how many diamonds had to die for this fool to parade his coonery on the airwaves. Imagine if he'd invested in higher education...

Striving for Street Cred: Case #4543 Soujah Boy Book 'Em

Does this bama have a new album coming out or something? Word on the curb is that the bird-chested rhymer got arrested last night for running from the po po. It all started when officers arrived at an abandoned house in Henry County, Georgia. About 40 young people were inside reportedly shooting a video. Souljah fled the scene but was arrested when he tried to return to his typical black peoples status car Range Rover. The 19-year-old rapper whose real name is Deandre Cortez Way was taken to jail then released. DUMAS!

Cornball Corner: Soulja Boy

The Coonery continues. Soulja Boy showcased his new Lamborghini chain to match his car. WTF? It's remote control and er'thing. Can you spell Lamborghini DUMAS? Next time take some of that money and buy time with a diction coach and most importantly, read a book beyatch, then "go that a way...." For this blatant display of ignorance, Soulja Boy you're sitting in the Brew's Cornball Corner. Now Superman that!
