Jay-Z's Obama Connections

We tipped you off on Twitter yesterday that Jay-Z was on his way to the White House shortly before his scheduled performance at DC's Verizon Center. And, sure 'nuff, he confirmed it at the show and the Washington Post picked up on it.

Apparently, President Obama has invited Jay to the White House a few times (since the Prez is a big fan and all), but the Jigga man couldn't make it (how you can't find time in your schedule not to rub elbows with the Obamas is beyond me...I'd come by even if Bo the dog sent me an invite...but, I digress). Anyway, Jay finally made the visit happen yesterday.  He got a little tour, had a few words with the Prez (and even brought Trey Songz along) and then bragged about it at his show.

Bringing Marcy to the White House.  That's a good look!

Breaking news from the Black White House…

Social Secretary Desiree Rogers is stepping down next month to “explore opportunities in the corporate world."

You’ll recall Rogers took major heat after party crashers walked all up into the Obama’s first State Dinner last year. Rogers is a long time friend of the Obama family, making the trek from Chicago when the president took office.

Well, one thing’s for sure… she can leave me any clothes she doesn’t need, and of course, she can leave me her job. I’m a pretty decent bouncer. I’ll keep the riff-raff out.

Obama's Press Secretary Gets Testy With Black Reporter

A surefire way to piss off a sista... talk to her like she's a child!

Watch as White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs attempts to silence American Urban Radio correspondent April Ryan during a press briefing.  Ryan put the press on Gibbs about the State Dinner "party crashers."  Ryan wanted to know why Social Secretary (and very fly, if I might add) Desiree Rogers was a guest at the dinner instead of an employee, bouncing at the door (so to speak).

Has the term "don't play me" ever been used at the White House?  Well, it has today!

Michelle LaVaughn Robinsin Obama debuted a new haircut at a country music festival in the White House last night and as expected, the criticisms are rolling in.... I like it! What is the problem here?

Am I the only one who loves that her middle name is LaVaughn????
