Brew Fashion: You’d Better Wear White After Labor Day!

Curse the old wife, the cliché-maker and the fashion critic who ever said you can't wear white after Labor Day! Tradition, be damned!

It's safe to rock your white, as long as you do it sensibly.

The Rules (such a harsh word, I know, but follow along)

• Ditch the linen: Don't come out the house lookin' like the old man in the club. Linen screams "I wish it could still be summer." Well, it's not. Get a grip and get some fall-friendly fabrics like light-weight wool. Leave the linen for Crockett & Tubbs.
  




Opt for "winter" whites: the color palette should go a bit deeper than standard, stark white. Look for colors like: cream, eggshell and off-white.




Mix your whites with colors and interesting patterns




White jeans are universal! Go on and rock them in the dead of winter with your cute sweater and knee high boots. It's okay! Tell grandma to get over it.




White pantyhose are for nurses (and even they don't wear them, neither should you)




White shoes are de debbil! Don't do it! (*unless it's a funky boot or platform pump*)



Winter-white coats are a "must have". They make you look a little richer than the drabs who'll be sporting dark trenches and pea coats.




Invest in a good white leather bag. You won't regret it.
