Would You Rock It?: Light Up Jimmy Choo Sandal

Jimmy Choo is taking it back to the days of L.A. Gear’s LA Tech light up tennis shoes. The shoemaker has designed a pair of 5-inch heeled “Zap” sandals for the glow stick club kids. The shoes light up when you dance…that is, if you have anything to dance about after dropping $2,495 for the shoes. Jimmy Choo released a cheaper version of the shoe for its H&M collabo line, but good luck finding those anywhere.

So, would you rock it?

Brew Fashion: McQueen’s Final Collection

Fashion insiders got a glimpse of Alexander McQueen’s final collection during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. The stunning collection was inspired by the Old Masters of painting. McQueen cut all the patterns before his death last month. It’s a shame we won’t see more from this troubled designer.

Brew Fashion: Stella McCartney Perforated Boots

I had a mini-fashion toegasm this morning when I popped open my RSS feed and saw "Gossip Girl's" Blake Lively rocking these faux-leather Stella McCartney perforated thigh-high boots.  Now, these boots aren't new.  Rihanna has rocked 'em before.  So has Stella.  Maybe the moon and stars aligned or something because I let out an audible gasp when I saw them on her.  Must.Have.These.Boots! Must.Find.1600."Disposable Dollars."First.

I wonder if I could just poke some holes in my leather J Crew boots.  Eh... maybe not.

XOXO

Would You Rock It?: Leather Corset

Check out this leather corset from Antiseptic Fashion.  It's available on Etsy and comes in a rainbow of colors from black to walnut, even iridescent purple and vegan "leather."

I think I need this in my life... sayyy, for those quick runs to the grocery store.  I mean, life is short, might as well be fabulous, right?

Anyway, would you rock it?

Brew Fashion: Sartorialist TV Coming Soon?

Who says this blogging isht doesn't pay off...

Scott Schuman, the brains behind The Sartorialist, has already turned his fashion blog into a book. And, soon he may have a TV gig and a clothing line to add to his repertoire.
I'm shooting some things for Italian Vogue, GQ and stuff like that. But also there's maybe a TV show coming up, maybe a clothing collection coming up. There's a lot of negotiating going on right now...I was offered a lot of shows before and I don't think the companies were right that were asking me. But this company I think is right. It's a very well known director and all, they're a company.
Congrats to him! Look out for that fresh line of Witches Brew Slow-Cooker Chitlins in 2010.
I'm sayin... it's all about branding!

Brew Fashion: Get Your "Swirl" On

Ain't nothin' like a good sample sale.  The trouble is, finding them.  Unless you're in the inner circle, know the password and knock three times.

Hip, in-the-know site DailyCandy hopes to fix that with the launch of Swirl.  All of the items on the new sample sale site will be selected by DailyCandy's editors, so you won't have to wade through any junk.  Swirl will offer deals up to 80% off.  Now, that's what I'm taumbout!  The site is in beta mode right now.  It's set for a soft launch on November 16th and a real launch in January 2010.

Swirl membership is exclusive to DailyCandy members for the beta launch.  So head to the website to sign up.

Brew Fashion: Boot Bonanza!

I love Fall.  The smell, the wind, the leaves, the crisp air.  Yeah, all that stuff is great.  But what really excites me are the fashion options!  Nothing screams Fall like a hot pair of new boots.  This season, you can still rock those ankle booties or you can step it up with the over-the-knee boot that was on just about every runway.

Brew Fashion Roundup: Infinity Scarves, Beckham & Topshop

Baby it's cold outside! But that doesn't mean you have to look like Nanook of the North. It is possible to stay warm while looking cute. Case in point: the infinity scarf. Some call them snoods, but infinity sounds hotter to me. Snood sounds like a bodily function, so we'll go with infinity.

These scarves are circular so you don't have to worry about what to do with the ends of the scarf. You just toss it around your neck like a necklace and then you can wrap it around a couple of times or drape it to make a funky shape. The price range on these varies so you can find them in your price point. I bought one this summer in purple and trust, I plan to ruck the hell out of it and stay warm in the process!

Brew Fashion: Get Michelle Obama’s Look

Face it. Our First Lady is fly. Period. She’s comfortable in her own skin, healthy and knows how to put a look together without the outfit wearing her. So, just how do you get Mrs. Obama’s look without her First Lady budget? Here ya go...

1. Layering is key! But the trick is to layer and still look womanly and not bulky. The secret is each layer should be close to the body for a more fitted look.

2. Cinch it! Mrs. Obama’s signature wardrobe item is a belt. This accessory draws the eye to her curves and emphasizes her small waist. Even if you don’t have a small waist, you can still make this trick work for you.

3. Shift gears! Mrs. Obama is a fan of the shift dress. It’s a classic shape that looks good on just about every body type. Of course, she has the arms to pull off a sleeveless shift. If you don’t… mask that flaw with a cute cardigan.

4. Get colored! The First Lady is a big fan of simple pieces in bold colors and prints. At 5’11”, she’s not afraid to wear vivid colors or bus prints. If your body frame is larger than the First Lady’s you can still opt for color. Just be careful to pick a print that suits your build and won’t make you look like a forest.

5. Accessorize! The First Lady always rocks a bold, key accessory piece. Usually a brooch, but sometimes a bold necklace. But, she keeps it simple. Remember the rule: always remove one accessory item before you walk out the door. Chances are, less is more!

6. Keep the coif simple! Mrs. Obama opts for simple hairstyles that compliment her overall look instead of dictating her style. Her long bob flatters her style choices and frames her face. You don’t see her hair coming at you before you see her.

The bloggers behind “Mrs. O” are launching a new book dedicated solely to Michelle Obama’s style. It’s called Mrs. O: The Face of Fashion Democracy. The book drops Wednesday and you can get it at Amazon right now.

For more tips on rocking Mrs. O’s style, check this out.

Fashion Roundup

Lots of good news to report from the fashion world this morning...

First, designer Jean Paul Gaultier is next up to bat for Target’s Go International brand.  The collection will reportedly pay tribute to the American woman.  The collection launches March 7, 2010.  Gaultier is the man responsible for those cone-shaped bras Madonna used to rock.  This should be interesting.  I can't wait!

French shoe designer Pierre Hardy is finally dropping his line with the Gap.  The shoes will debut in select stores this week.  The shoes range from $100 - $200.
