Here's the promo for the very long overdue Saturday Night Live hosting gig for Betty White.  She'll take the reigns on May 8th, with Jay-Z as the musical guest.  If they do a sketch together, please call 911 for me cuz I'll be dead.

Also on the special May 8th "Mother's Day" show:  Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.



BTW, if you missed Gabby Sidibe on last weekend's show, here's a look.  Overall, she was just... "ehhh," but I was happy she got the gig.  I think the writers could have given her more to do.

Gabourey Sidibe To Host “SNL”

Huh? So, what’s all that talk about Gabby Sidibe never getting another good gig in Hollywood?  Huh?  What’ch say Howard Stern?

On March 14, a Facebook group entitled “We want Gabourey Sidibe to host SNL” launched, with the mission statement of getting the Oscar-nominated “Precious” actress to host the sketch comedy show. Mission accomplished, if early reports are to be believed.

E! is reporting that Sidibe will host an episode of “Saturday Night Live” in the coming weeks.

No date for the hosting gig has been set yet.  But, damn, she got the job faster than Betty White.  White’s fans had been campaigning for months to get the Golden Girl on the show.  She’s set to host May 8^th.  Oh, and by the way, “Precious” has a Showtime series coming up too, so take dat, take dat Howard!

Howard Stern Takes Shots At Oprah

The fallout from Howard Stern's comments about Precious star Gabourey Sidibe continues. Stern is now firing back after last week’s ripping by Jamie Foxx’s radio crew. Now, he’s got his guns aimed at the Queen of All Media, Oprah Winfrey… every other thick actress and Jamie's whole radio crew.

Dang everyone is going hard on our girl! Jamie Foxx and his Beijing hairline recently clowned Gabourey Sidibe on his radio show, The Foxx Hole, telling his listeners that she looks like Biggie Smalls. He even called her The Notorious Precious. Take a listen...

I have to admit Jamie is funny as hell but where are all the critics who slammed Howard Stern for making ill comments about Sidibe? Does Jamie get a pass cuz he's "family"? This diss hasn't even registered on the Brewshyt meter! Hypocritical much?

In other big girl buzz -- weight loss company AcaiSupply.com says it wants to help Sidibe fight obesity which the company calls a "terrible affliction". Look I'll be the first to say that being that bountiful isn't exactly healthy, but if she's okay with it then why is everyone trying to change her?

Howard Stern Fires At Gabourey Sidibe

Howard Stern has no love for the pleasantly plump Gabourey "Precious" Sidibe. Stern called her "the most enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen." Then, he (and his sidekick Robin Quivers) went on a tear about Gabby. Take a listen...

So, suddenly, Howard Stern (who definitely has a face for radio) is the keeper of all talent?  Who is he to determine whether Gabby will work again and if she has a place in Hollywood?  I find her refreshing and enjoy watching her experience all her recent fame.

And by the way, Gabby has signed on for a role in Showtime's The Big C, so "take dat, take dat," Howard. Then, you and Robin go fugg yourselves.

"Precious" Sweeps Indie Spirit Awards

It was a clean sweep for the film Precious at Friday's Independent Spirit Awards.

Precious won every award for which it was nominated, including best picture. Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique picked up trophies for best actress and best supporting actress, respectively. Lee Daniels was honored for directing the film. Precious also won best screenplay.

Mo'Nique has been cleaning up this awards season but she says she hasn't written an Oscar acceptance speech because the universe would say "You have a lot of nerve."

Now, is it me or does Mo'Nique's husband have a whole lotta "howyoudoin" written across his face in that first pic?

Just wondering...

Ahh, it looks like you got to the shoot before 'Your handlers' could get there, Gabby. I mean there are so many things working for this shot, that failed in previous glamour shot attempts. A) No under FUPA shots, B)they are letting you wear shoes, C) and there are no awkward attempts to create bone structure that just isn't there. And she just looks like the happy, pretty girl, she is.

Thanks for not playing this talented girl, out like a sucka, Ebony. In the words of the Fug girls WELL PLAYED, SIDEBE!

Precious' Mamma is Sangin' at the Subway

Peep this video of Gabourey Sidibe's mother doing the Jennifer Holiday at a New York City subway station. Alice Tan Ridley used to teach school and sing but quit teaching to make the subway stage her full-time gig. Ridley says singing allows her enough money to pay her bills and that she's not trying to profit off her daughter's new found fame.

We told you how V Magazine has caught on to what most of us already knew... thick is the new black!  Well, another reason to buy V Magazine's upcoming "Size Issue"... Precious star Gabourey Sidibe shares a double cover with Dakota Fanning.

The Size Issue features plus sized models and shows a more diverse side of the fashion game. I guess Fanning will be the teeny weeny torch carrier and Gabby will rep for the thickems.
