Ellen DeGeneres Has A Way With The Ladies

For just the second time in O Magazine history, Oprah Winfrey is sharing her cover with another person.  Ellen DeGeneres campaigned hard for the spot... and she got it.  She'll appear alongside Oprah on the December cover which drops next week.  What kinda game do Ellen be spittin', son?

Ellen and Oprah shot 2 covers: one for subscribers and one for newsstands.  The only other human to grace the cover with O was Lady O (First Lady Michelle Obama).

Brew Bits: Ellen Responds to the Haters.......

Don't nobody better talk smack bout my Ellen!! Apparently she's been getting ripped a new one because people feel she's not qualified to be an American Idol judge. Um pardon my french but Paula Abdul was?????? whatevs! She had this to say:

“Apparently, there’s a lot of debate going on right now whether I’m qualified or not to be the new judge on American Idol… I know there is a lot chatter. I’ll tell you right now, how I know I’m going to be a great judge … I’ve spent my whole life being judged. So I know what it’s like. But the things that people are saying…I thought America had moved past this. First, we have the first African American President. We’ve sworn in our first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice. I think American Idol is ready for their first blonde judge … I do.”

Brew Bits: VH-1 Divas Live 2009, Paula is Ellen....

I have it DVR'd, haven't watched it yet but the reviews for Paula's hosting are rather....... ouch!!!

"And I guess that’s the peril of hiring Paula Abdul for a hosting gig. The VH1: Divas writers certainly couldn’t ignore the wacky-loopy-unhinged reputation of their MC, and yet, with the way Paula struggled and stumbled and eye-popped through even the simplest on-stage banter, it often felt like everyone was in on the joke except her. (I think even the Teleprompter was suppressing an inappropriate chuckle on occasion.) Explaining her role in helping discover and nurture former Idol contestants and current Divas performers Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Jordin Sparks, Paula suddenly blurted out, “Hell, I almost breast-fed ‘em!” to nervous laughter from the audience. Later in the evening, she was dragged off the stage by a giant, glittery hook, after attempting to comically “run long” while introducing a presenter. And then, worst of all, Paula pretended not to know who Liza Minnelli was, for the sole purpose of setting up a decades-old “Liza with a Z” punch line."

American Idol's New Judge

Sayonara, Paula! Ellen DeGeneres is the latest addition to the judging table at American Idol. Fox made it official tonight. DeGeneres will join Simon, Randy and what'sherface for the 9th season of Idol, which kicks off in January 2010.

DeGeneres replaces Paula Abdul who opted not to return this season. But, Ellen won't sit in on the auditions. She'll just judge the performances. The auditions will feature guest judges Victoria "Posh" Beckham, Mary J. Blige and Shania Twain (among others).

So, does this mean American Idol is going "lebanese?" Hee hee... you know I had to go there!
