Presidential Brew: Obama's State Dinner

The hottest ticket in town (sadly, I was not on the guest list) was tonight's first state dinner, hosted by the President and First Lady.  The dinner was in honor of India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife.  And never the fashion disappointment, Lady O rocked a gown by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan. I love how she supports fashion.

Khan actually made a few gowns for the dinner but the First Lady's chose this strapless one.  It has a hand-cut sterling silver sequin pattern over silk chiffon.  The dress was completely handmade.  It took three weeks and 40 people to make it!

Work it, Michelle!  And is she oiled up too?  Fierce, honay!

They look like the perfect wedding cake topper!  Don't those two look like they have great sex though?

Hey, I'm just sayin'...

Obama to Men: Step Up & Carry Your Load!

President Barack Obama admits some men need to be "knocked across the head every once in a while" to realize all the hard work their wives put into the household.

Obama told NBC that his family is like lots of other families: where women put in most of the work.  But, he says things have changed (obviously) since coming to the White House.  The First Lady can relax a little bit.

The president said he tried to learn to be better -- "to be thoughtful enough and introspective enough that I wasn't always having to be told that things were unfair. That once in a while, I'd actually voluntarily say, 'You know what? Let me relieve this burden on you. Let me make some sacrifices, in terms of how I'm using my time.'"

Well, hot damn, Hot Prez!

Obamas Celebrate 17 Years of Marriage

The President and First Lady celebrated 17 years of marriage over the weekend, by dining at the Blue Duck Tavern in DC. And, despite all the global crises, the health care debacle and the failed attempt to woo the Olympics to Chicago... this man still had time to take the wife out on the town. And some of you men can't work 9-5 and take your ladies to a movie. Hmmpf! Anyway, I digress. Woosah... Enjoy the photos.

The First Lady rocked a halter dress, blue clutch and Jimmy Choo Lantern heels. Get it Michelle!

Sasha Fab

Look who was down for a game of peek-a-boo with her Daddy in the Oval Office!

I think he was a bit busy working on more pressing matters. But, you gotta love the ever so cute little Sasha for trying. She might wanna go read a book or something though. Don't be distracting Daddy when he's working on my health care plan!

Things Negroes Like: Obama Edition

In honor of our 44th President's 48th birthday, let's talk about what the Negroes like about Barry-O.

Run it:

He's Teflon
Controversy stands no chance next to this man. He smooth talks his way out of it, around it, over it, under it and through it.
Or…he has a beer and just brushes that dirt off…

He's Married to a Real Woman (and he likes her momma)

A woman with smarts, curves, 'a kitchen', a rolling neck (ya'll know she got one) and an actual point of view! And she looks like she can make a mean mac & cheese too… in Jimmy Choos, of course.

He's Got Kids with Ethnic Names

Come on, you know some baby whose momma lives on MLK, Jr. Blvd. is already named the ghetto version of Malia. That would be M'leeyah (silent a, get it right).

He's Got a Dog with a Negro Name

How Negro of a dog name is Bo? The only thing that would make Bo any 'blacker' is if they would have named him King and kept him on a chain in the yard.

Happy birthday Mr. President!

Now, go get that health care passed, so I won't change my opinion.

Just kidding! (*well, not really*)

Gays Pissed At Prez

Gay rights groups are calling on President Obama to man-up. They say his decision to grant limited benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees is a nice gesture but not quite enough.

The president’s decision won’t give the couples health or retirement benefits. Obama’s critics say he’s not fully committed to the gay and lesbian cause.

Obama is reportedly a supporter of giving same-sex couples full health benefits but he knows that’s going to take an actual “act” of Congress to make happen.

So, is his latest measure simply putting a band-aid on the problem?

Critics want the president to end the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy as well. They’d hoped it would happen as quickly as his announcement of his plans to close the Guantanamo Bay prison. But so far… *crickets chirping.*

So, what’s your call? Is President Obama doing enough to give gays and lesbians full civil rights? Or, should this issue take a backseat to the other fires he’s putting out?

Barack Is Too Fly For You

Note to all terrorist flies: don't eff with our Prez!

A pesky fly kept trying to get close to President Obama (a fly after my own heart) during a CNBC interview today.  So, Big O stalked the little bugger with the patience of only someone of African descent (you know we can swat a skeeter to death with the quickness at a cookout) and smacked it dead in one shot!

See for yourself...

I expect the PETA people to protest the White House tomorrow.

Bo Knows Books

White House dog, Bo Obama, is an authorist like Maya Wilkes. Mascot Books will release "Bo, America's Commander in Leash" this month. The Virginia-based company started the book before Bo was even chosen by the First Family.

In the book, Bo serves as the narrator and takes readers on a tour of the White House.

The book is destined to sell more that Bow Weakzy. The company already has 50,000 preorders and plans to print 100,000 copies of the book which retails for $14.95.

Not So Special

Ouch, Barry O. Last night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, President Obama made a not so special reference to the Special Olympics when asked about his record on the bowling alley. See this is why when folks ask you about your bowling inabilities, you should just lie and say you ripped that mofo out and put up a basketball court.

Peep my President on Leno talking about his tragic bowling attempts:

Of course, an apology was written before Air Force One gassed up...and I'm sure he's given a donation to his homies, the Shriver-Kennedys.

But oucha, Obama. Please don't try to fit your size 13s into your mouth again.

UPDATE: Here's what the Special Olympics organization had to say about the gaffe.

Obama Fingers

WTF is up with the Germans?

A German company has hit the market with chicken snacks called "Obama Fingers." The frozen chicken fingers come with curry sauce on the side. And here with go with the backlash... tying the black president with fried chicken! What's next, Michelle's Grits... Malia's waterMelons? Come on people... haven't we learned anything? Don't put black people and chicken in the same sentence. Unless you're about to give us some free Popeyes. Then, we'll take that.

Now, pass me some of dem tasty Obama fangas!

Sleeveless In The City

What is the big deal about going sleeveless in winter? Political pundits and fashion critics have lambasted First Lady Michelle Obama about her choice to go sleeveless at a number of events and even in her official White House photo.

Photo credit: Joyce N. Boghosian/The White House

The First Lady drew fiery criticism when she opted for a sleeveless look during her husband’s address to Congress last week. Some say she chose an out-of-season look, while others complain her plum Narciso Rodriguez dress was too informal for such a serious occasion.

Mrs. O is a fan of the sleeveless silhouette, and why shouldn’t she be? She has fabulously toned arms and a healthy figure. Her look has even inspired a workout.

I will admit, it is quite chilly in Washington, DC these days…so you won’t catch me going sleeveless. But if I my husband ran the free world, I’d wear what the hell I want too.

The brouhaha is taking some of the shine off the other tasks the First Lady is performing in her official role, so White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers chimed in on the good work Lady O is doing.

I think the haters should toss on a sweater and shut up!

Fontin’ Like Obama

Ok, this Obama madness has gone too far. Now, we can write like him too! A Tennessee company called Insigne Design is selling a font called “44th President.” The font is based on President Obama’s lefty handwriting. You can download it for $15.95 (a portion of the proceeds go to charity). Wonder how long it'll take before some knucklehead starts forging BHO's signature and selling it as the "official" autograph. Hmmm, now that's an idea!

New York Post takes 'shot' at Obama...

...and the dead chimp!

A New York Post cartoon about the hefty stimulus bill appears to link President Barack Obama with the now deceased Travis, the chimp. Travis is the monkey that went straight apeshit and mauled its owner's friend in Connecticut.

The Rev. Al Sharpton calls the cartoon "troubling at best."

So, offensive or not? What's your call?
