Jennifer Lopez Signs With Def Jam

Is Def Jam not aware of JLo’s recent career woes? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I lubs me some Lola, but that Louboutins song was not the hotness. Anyhow, L.A. Reid has signed her to Def Jam. Maybe he likes a challenge.  Apparently, Reid will also produce JLo’s new album too! You’ll recall that Lopez was dropped from her old label, Sony, in February. Wonder what will become of that unreleased album, “Love.” Stay tuned…

Sony Dumps J.Lo?

In another sign that her career is in the twalay (fancy word for toilet), Jennifer Lopez is no longer a Sony recording artist. Her last two singles fulfilled the terms of her contract, so she chose to leave the label before her new album is released.

Benny Medina (manager of the J.Lo) confirms the separation: “Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone Sony for all that they accomplished together.”

It’s not clear if Sony dropped her or if the split was her choice. Her singles “Louboutins” and “Fresh Out The Oven” haven’t done so hot. Sources say the label wasn’t sure who Lopez’s audience is anymore. Word is she may jump to Def Jam.

Dear Jennifer Lopez

Since when do you wear the same thing twice? What have motherhood and marriage done to you? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know kids = priorities and all that shizz.  But, I want the old, selfish, diva antics JLo back. The one who paid a guy to make something called “body bling” and spray on her make-up so she always looked tan. I want the JLo back who wears showstopping plunging necklines and does lame-ish remixes with Ja Rule (insert other, more popular rapper's name here). You wore this hellish catsuit for the world to see on New Year’s Eve and here you are, rocking it again over the weekend? What gives? I know times are rough for most Americans, but cot dammit you are J-muthajumpin-Lo. If you have to repeat your gear, then recession reality really hits home for the rest of us.  I mean, I can wear the same jeans Monday – Wednesday, but you? You do not repeat outfits. C'mon, Jennifer!

And don't even get me going on that silver "I am Sasha Fierce" get up. *iSigh*

Jennifer Lopez decided to ring in the new year wearing a sparkly catsuit and doing a booty pop.  And she managed to do it all without falling.

The Fall Heard 'Round The World...

...or perhaps not.

ABC executives opted to remove Jennifer Lopez's fall from the American Music Awards' west coast broadcast out of respect. When asked about the tragedy, JLo laughed it off and told Ryan Seacrest:

"Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember. Yeah, I meant to do that. You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography."

I love huh! The 2002 Jenny from the block woulda cut a chick and meanmugged the stage for making her fall.  But not this older, wiser Jenny who dances in boxing shoes!

Now, Adam Lambert fell during his performance too, but all we remember was seeing him getting some pseudo-Becky anyway... unless of course you live on the west side, cuz that mofo got edited too!

Continuing along with non-stop birthday festivities, Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were spotted arriving at the Edison Ballroom to celebrate “An Evening for Lola” as part of Lopez’s 40th birthday celebration in New York City on Saturday night (July 25).

Among the star-studded guest list were Liza Minelli, Benny Medina, Ricky Martin and Jen’s “The Back-Up Plan” co-star Alex O’Loughlin.
