Nas Ordered To Pay Up!

TMZ reports a judge ordered Nas to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support to Kelis. The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis. Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis' legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28. Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis' accounting expenses.

New Nas Biography

Writer, philosopher, reverend, thinker, professor and pseudo-rapper Michael Eric Dyson is penning a book about Nasir Jones.  "Born To Use Mics" will tell Nas' story, focusing mainly on his best work (ok, maybe you'd disagree) Illmatic.  The book will feature other contributing writers.  Here's a little summary of the piece:

Nas Trying To Block Spousal Support

Well, so much for the rumors of reconciliation.  Nas is sending a loud azz "C'mon, son...GTFOH" to his estranged wife, Kelis. Nas' lawyer is now in the process of trying to block Kelis' request for $72,728 a month in spousal support.

Over the summer, Kelis' lawyer filed a motion seeking the near $73,000 per month amount based on Nas' reported income of $240,000 per month. In addition to that amount, Kelis also wants $17,225 in monthly child support, $29,522 in back child support and $281,517 in retro spousal support.

But, all that was before the IRS swooped in and filed a lien against Nas, citing $2,584,206.31 for unpaid taxes.

Whew! Methinks Kelis needs to get a job.  Don't be mad...UPS is hiring!

Nas In Debt To The Gub'ment!

First Wesley Snipes, then Method Man and now this!  Nas owes the IRS more than $2 million in unpaid taxes.  And Uncle Sam wants his monayyy... all $2,584,206 of it, come rain, sleet or snow!

The IRS is taking Nas to court later this year.  Nas still pays Kelis more than $44,000 per month in child support.  Looks like she's gonna have to start cranking out more milkshakes!

Nas Speaks on Chicago Violence

Nas has been one of the few celebs to step up and speak out against the violence taking place on the streets of Chicago (and many other urban areas). He penned an Open Letter to Young Warriors after the video taped beating death of Derrion Albert hit the Internet.

Over the weekend, Nas hit the CNN airwaves to talk about the deadly street violence and what (if any) role music plays in the healing process.

Nas wrote this open letter to the children responsible for Derrion's death. He came at it from a "been where you are" perspective rather than a scathing tongue lashing.

Here it is....

Dear Young Warriors, Fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool. Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling , that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But…. We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for.

I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s , and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block”, or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay”!!! I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who??

Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household. You have the ability and mind power to change they way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwin us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Lovin to bury us in the ground or in jail were we continue this worthless war on one another.

Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz This movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, boys n the hood , blood n blood out, Belly! When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other..

Nas: Cheaper to Keep Her?

So after all that crying about money, it looks like Nas and Kelis may be mending fences. The two were spotted out and about in New York City. They attended the grand opening of the Hair Rules NY salon and they even posed for pics together.

Perhaps it is cheaper to grin and bear it than cough up nearly $300 grand in spousal support and whatnot.

Well, good luck… I guess?

So Kells is having a hard time staying afloat on the $45,000 a month she gets from Nas. She claims she only makes $13,000 a month next to Nasir's $244,000 a month so consequently she feels she should get an additional $17,000 a month bringing her total monthly pay out to $72,000 a month...... some people don't even make close to that in a year! that settles it! I'm goin hard at the next hip-hop concert and having me one of these rap babies, working and fending for yourself is so 2008!

Tyrese's divorce is final and although he had a pre- nup still has to pay his ex wife, Norma Mitchell a whopping $65,000 plus $6,230 a month in child support. What kinda pre-nup is that??? dude fire your lawyers, like STAT!! Does Ty Ty even make that kinda money???? Transformers must be paying weller than a mug! ('weller than a mug' was all kinds of Ebonics crazy wasn't it?)

Another Nas Baby On The Way?

Word is Nas may be making more bank withdrawals soon. The rapper allegedly has another baby on the way with an unnamed woman. If you've been following their saga, you'll recall that Kelis—who is quite fond of sending cryptic messages via Twitter—made reference to cheating husbands being scumbags a few months ago.

Not sure I’m on the bandwagon with this story just yet. But nothing surprises me these days.

Meantime, Nas says he ain’t perfect but he was a good husband. He told Straight.com that he’s amazed his life is now fodder for the internetz. Nas says the rumors “almost sound[s] like I was a bad husband. Not to say I was the greatest—I’m not perfect in anything I do—but I think I deserve a fucking trophy. If I do say so myself, without sounding too cocky, I gotta say I was a hell of a husband and a hell of a dad.”

Well alrighty then.

Clearly somebody doesn’t think so. Nas will be paying Kelis $39,498 in monthly support—$30,471 in spousal support and $9,027 in child support—and $45,000 for her attorney’s fees because Kelis ONLY brings in $21,616 per month in royalties.

Wish I had that problem, girl!

@iamkelis So I hired a baby nurse, for 24hr help. Everyone told me I needed one, which I get a new baby is constant work.... So I have this very nice woman here on her first day for work. But I am feeling like I'm under surveillance and I really don't wanna share my perfect little 3 day old marshmellow with anyone. I can't say that after a week or two of no sleep I will be in desperate need of some relief but right now its Just too soon. Everything he does entertains me lol n I don't mind any of it. I think he smells like pie n I never wanna share pie! Lol

24 hour nurse???? and she's home with the baby all day? hmmmm I don't know about that one, sometimes, although I hate to admit it, the men do kinda get a bum deal. Oh well!
