Remember when you could actually find music on music television channels? I think I was about 14 then. Anyway, perhaps the times are a-changin'. Trey Songz is the latest act to score his own MTV Unplugged session. And the clips have hit the innawebs. Even if you aren't a Trey Songz fan, you'll have to admit, the idea of an artist just performing his/her craft without a bunch of autotunin' and coonin', a gyrating-pelvic-thrusting dancer or a lil rapper announcing "the goon's home" is quite refreshing.

Concert News: Monica To Tour With Trey & Melanie

Fresh off their respective tours with Jigga and Alicia Keys, Trey Songz and Melanie Fiona (did I mention I stan for them?) are hitting the road with Monica this summer. She made the announcement during an interview on Atlanta’s Fox station.

Brew Bits: Trey Songz Hops On Blueprint 3 Tour

The sex inventor has managed to hop on one of the most highly coveted tour line-ups in a long time.  Trey Songz joined the second leg of Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 tour. He will be one of the opening acts when it kicks off February 20th in Fort Lauderdale, FL, wrapping up March 27th in Las Vegas.  Click here for details.

Stabbing Shuts Down DC's Love Nightclub

Well, what could have been a huge weekend for DC's Love nightclub and its owner Marc Barnes went bust last night, thanks to some folks who couldn't leave the hate behind in 2009.  A big weekend had been planned for the club, with sex inventor Trey Songz headlining Thursday night and Drake due to perform Friday.  But, DC's chief of police ordered the club shut down for 96 hours due to a stabbing incident on New Year's Eve.  I noticed the tweets was buzzin' about some "incident" at the club, so I did some sleuthing (and, by that I mean Googlin') and sho'nuff, this is the statement from Marc Barnes.

The club also tweeted (yeah, clubs are tweetin' now) that the events will be rescheduled.

What a way to begin 20-10!

R. Kelly has some words for Trey I Invented Sex Songz.  Trey made a song about the "Death of Kells."  (Click here if you haven't heard it yet.)  So, Kells is firing back and basically wants Trey (@SongzYuuup) to stay in his lane and bow down to greatness.

I'm guessing Kells still hasn't gotten that 'readin, 'ritin and 'rithmatic thing situated cuz for the first 30 seconds or so, I didn't know what the hell he was taumbout.  I like how he let it marinate after "trying to throw a rock on the top of the Sears Tower."

We are winding down 2009. A year of change and hope. But much of our new found clout can easily be canceled out by some of your colored cousins who continue to act like coons in the clubs. Case in point, Trey Songz (@SongzYuuup). Now, I know this young brother is swexy and all...but Imma need you Trey not to follow Jamie Foxx down his yellow brick road of cornball acts of kindness. Pouring Goose down a willing "lady's" throat is never a good look. To put it simple, it's corny. Kind of like wearing sunglasses in the club corny (unless you have a wonk eye, then we'll give you a pass) Somewhere this chick's three kids are at their grandmouva's house downing red kool-aid from Big Lots baby bottles and learning how to curse right. If this shining example of womenhood can't understand that aspiring to have a "celebrity" dose your face and do with 90 proof is not the move then okay...but you don't have to feed into it. We Witches like to cut up in the club from time to time and we get it, you're young, but this is just corny boo. Cease and desist, stat!
