Cookbook FAIL!

An Australian publisher had to scrap and re-print a cookbook after one of its recipes called for "salt and freshly ground black people" instead of black pepper.

Penguin Group Australia had to reprint 7,000 copies of the "Pasta Bible" last week, costing them about $18K. But, some of the books were already stocked in book stores, so those will not be recalled. I guess you can look for them on eBay!

Almost every one of the recipes in the book listed salt and freshly ground black pepper, but a misprint occurred on just one page. The publisher calls it a "silly mistake."

Ya think?

I'm sure black people taste pretty good...well, with all the chicken and stuff we eat.  We're probably very well grased and marinated.  But, I really don't want them in my pasta.

Farrah Fawcett: Snubbed?

First, she gets overshadowed in death by Michael Jackson and now this:
Every year, there are a few names who always wind up being left out of the Oscars tribute to the stars who died in the previous year. Farrah Fawcett, one of the year's biggest celebrity losses, did not make the cut.

Surely, the actress is known mostly for her TV work on Charlie's Angels and the TV movie classic The Burning Bed. But Oscar shouldn't have overlooked that Fawcett starred in films ranging from the sci-fi thriller Saturn 3 to the '80s road-rally hit The Cannonball Run to the drama Extremities to Robert Altman's Dr. T and the Women to The Apostle.

And we can’t forget the filmmaking masterpiece that was The Cookout.

Fail Oscars. Fail.

Nick Cannon: You Are The Weakest Link

Nick Cannon thought he was big enough to roll with Jay-Z. Little did he know, he's just an umbrella carrier.

Watch as Nick tries to tag along like the lonely little brother. Trey Songz plays him. Even Jeezy doesn't have the time of day for little Nick.

Brew Music News: Solange Dropped!

Tough break for Solange Knowles. She got dropped from Interscope/Geffen Records. Rumors of the impending drop had been circulating since April, causing both Solange and her crazy daddy fathager Mathew Knowles to shyt bricks, saying their relationship with the record company was "very much in place."

Well, not so much anymore. The label dropped Solange in the Spring. She's still recording music for her third album but she's got no new deal, although her people are putting a cherry on the story, saying:
"Solange felt it necessary to go with a smaller, independent label that focuses more on the alternative genre, one that reflects her music style and artistry. Solange is working on a new album and the label will be announced shortly."
Hope it works out for Solo. She's the Knowles sister you'd actually want to get your drank on with.

Epic Fail: Wal-Mart Won't Sell Whitney Houston?

Word on the streets is Wal-Mart may not carry Whitney Houston's new CD, I Look To You, in its stores when it drops on August 31st.

Why? Fix your faces for this one people... Miley Cyrus' album also drops on that date. Wal-Mart has a huge deal with the screeching cat Cyrus to carry her new clothing line with BCBG designer Max Azria. That clothing line also debuts on August 31st. So, the oppressive retailer may only carry Houston's album online. The rumor is Wal-Mart doesn't want the diva's new release to interfere with Cyrus' buzz.

So, is Wal-Mart trying to put a damper on the diva's comeback? Or, are they simply protecting their interests by pushing to drive Miley to debut at #1?

Personally, I'd rather listen to a cat meow all night, while having a root canal (sans anesthesia), while rats chew off my eyelids than listen to anything Miley sings. But that's just me.

What's your call?

Epic Fail: Hotel Blames Victim For Rape

A Marriott hotel in Connecticut says a woman who was raped there back in 2006, at gunpoint and in front of her children was careless and negligent.

The Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa filed court papers claiming the woman "failed to exercise due care for her own safety and the safety of her children and proper use of her senses and facilities."

The woman was approached by the rapist at gunpoint. She told him to go through her wallet and take it. But he raped her instead, assaulting the woman in the hotel's parking garage, inside her minivan while her 3 and 5 year old watched. The man reportedly also threatened to assault one of her children. He was arrested three days after the attack and is now serving 20 years.

The woman claims the man was in the hotel and the garage acting suspicious for days before the attack, but the hotel did not notice him or make him leave. The woman has since filed a civil suit against the hotel on grounds it failed to prevent the rape.

Her attorneys say the hotel has revealed her identity by asking her acquaintances, and even a Pilates instructor, to testify.

Where is the justice?
