Mary J. Blige Pops Off, Son!

Word on the innawebs is Mary J. Blige grabbed her nuts, flipped the fugg out and went straight up Yonkers on her band during Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party.

MJB performed in front of an audience that included Barbra Streisand, Jane Fonda, Maxwell, Taylor Swift and other entertainment heavyweights. Word is Blige humiliated her band in front of the audience right as she was about to sing “No More Drama.” As the band began playing the song, MJB ordered the musicians to stop, waved her arms angrily and said, “Can we get the right music for Mary J Blige? Are we practicing still?” I guess you could hear crickets chirp in the audience. But, nonetheless, Mary still turned it out during her set though.

And then she promptly went backstage and slapped Kendu. Kidding. Or am I???

Will You Watch?: BET's Haiti Concert

BET is getting in on the Haiti relief effort all late and whatnot.  The network plans to do a concert for Haiti next month, with Diddy, Queen Latifah and Pharrell on deck as hosts. 

The two hour concert/telethon, called "SOS Saving OurSelves — Help for Haiti," will be broadcast live from Miami and it'll mark Chris Brown's first "major" return to TV.

Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige, Drake, Robin Thicke, Monica and Lil Wayne are also scheduled to perform. Proceeds from the event will go to Yele Haiti, CARE and other charities.

"SOS Saving OurSelves — Help for Haiti" airs on BET, MTV, VH1 and Centric at 8 pm (ET) on February 5th.

Would You Rock It?: MJB's Sunglasses

Mary J. Blige is celebrating her 39th birthday today (hopefully, no punches will be thrown).  And, she's got lots to celebrate...a new album AND a new line of shades called "Melodies."  After years of rocking every other designer's frames, she's coming out with her own line some time this spring.  Check this space for more details.  Meantime, here's Mary plugging the glasses on the Chelsea Handler show...

There's video of the alleged punching incident from earlier this week at Mary J. Blige's album release party at club M2.  So is it a slap, a punch or what?  Look closely at the 1:08 mark and you be the judge...

UPDATE: So Mary's people say she did not "Chris Brown" her man. Spokeswoman Karynne Tencer says Mary's "husband and her brother got into an altercation that turned into a fight. Mary went to break up the fight.” (Source)

Mary J. Blige Punches Her Hubby In Public?

Word on the curb is Mary J. Blige left her "no drama" mantra behind and put on her Yonkers hat during the release party for her new album, Stronger withEach Tear, Tuesday night. Sources say she punched her husband Kendu Isaacs in the face during the party at NYC's club M2.

There are conflicting reports as to the reason why: Necole Bitchie reports it had to do with Kendu putting Mary's brother out of the club after the brother got into some sort of argument. But, the NY Post says the scrap had to do with Kendu's flirting with a waitress.

The Post says Mary told him "You're not going to ruin my night," then the two started arguing, Mary allegedly pushed aside the guy trying to separate the couple, then she cocked back and punched Kendu in the face - drawing blood.

Her team quickly swarmed in and eventually Kendu was kicked out and Mary left her own party. So far though, no one's talking. Her rep said, "People lie and don't know what they're talking about."

Sounds like this one is to be continued...

Mary J. Blige To Sing At World Series

First Jay-Z and Alicia Keys...then John Legend and now Mary J. Blige will perform at the World Series.  MJB is headed to the Bronx tonight to sing the national anthem at Yankee Stadium before Game Six of the World Series.

What is this, the Negro League?  The Soul Train Awards?  I love it!  Baseball is getting its urban on.  It's the only reason I watch... then after the "land of the free and the home of the brave," I promptly turn the channel!
