Brew Bits: Mariah Carey’s Album Canceled

Damn. It must suck to be Mariah Carey right now. She's about 2 minutes from being added to our "searching for relevancy" tag.  Word is her new remix album, Angels Advocate, has been canceled. The project had already been pushed back twice after her earlier studio album release tanked.

Angels Advocate was canceled just a month from its scheduled release date but some of the tracks may be released as singles. Her people confirm the cancelation but they won’t say what caused it. They are saying that Mimi may release another studio album or she may do another Christmas album. A decision has not been made though.

Nick… gas up the car, you’ve got to go to work!

Brew Conundrum: Mariah & Minaj

Some screen-shots of Mariah Carey's new video "Up Out My Face" (the English major inside, cringes at that grammar assault) have been released. I am sitting here imagining what the contents of these ''Special Edition" boxes would be.
Mariah looks like an old time saloon owner/madam- she'd have flask of whiskey strapped to her thigh and maybe a shot gun, to protect her whores at the brothel. And she'd give back room liposuction, that she practices on herself first.

But... her homie is still not convincing me that she is not packing some special accessories (strap on, shenis, mangina...erm ''Very Special Secret").

I miss the days when Mariah and Old Dirty went back, like babies with pacifiers. *sigh*

Mariah's Record Flops...Nick's On Top

Word on the curb is Def Jam is pulling the plug on promoting Mariah Carey's latest album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, because it's only sold about 344,000 copies (which is pretty low on the Mariah mega-album scale).  Instead, a bunch of remixes will be released next year with 4 new songs.  Damn.  It's cold out there, ain't it?  Carey still plans to go on tour at the end of the month though.  Won't that be fun...watching her tip-toe around the stage in tight get-ups doing that breathy-singing thing she does?

Well, at least Nick Cannon has 50-11 jobs. His recently-launched company NCredible Entertainment has offices in NYC and LA so he can work on a slew of TV and radio projects. Mr. Carey Cannon is working on shows for TeenNick and MTV and a puppet show for Adult Swim. He's also launching a morning radio show on WXRK-FM in New York (92.3 Now) next month.

Clearly, somebody is planning for the day when the checks stop coming in.

Old suspenders is getting ready to ask Mimi some random questions from his blue cards this week.  Mariah Carey will be Larry King's guest Wednesday night (November 4th).  She'll talk about her new film, "Precious," and other stuff (maybe about how Eminem ripped her a new one?... ok, maybe not).

The interview comes 7 years after her last one with the King.  Remember that one?  She told Larry "I'm not wacko. But my point is already made. I mean, we're all a little wacko sometimes, and if we think we're not, maybe we are more than we know."  (*Larry's face... crickets chirping*)

Anyway, the interview airs on CNN this Wednesday at 9 pm (ET).  Will you watch?

Mariah Canceling Left and Right

Mariah Carey must be feeling some kinda heat these days. And I don't mean in the sack with church-suit-wearin' Nick Cannon either (pointing at you, Eminem).

The singer canceled her August 28^th Today Show concert and will now be replaced by Miley (I need a gum transplant) Cyrus. Carey also canceled an appearance on next month's MTV Video Music Awards and she canned her "VH1 Storytellers" show. She's even delayed her acceptance of her star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

There's word her album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, may be pushed back…again. It's supposed to be released September 15^th.

So this is what Eminem was talking about huh? Ending careers!?! Poor Mimi.

We Fall Down But We Get Up: Mariah Performs on Hubby's Talent Show

Mariah dusted the verbal smackdown layed down by Eminem and performed "Obsessed" last night on "America's Got Talent" in front of her hubby, a screaming audience and millions of TV watchers....... Eminem must not have learned her ass properly yet. Guess she won't be happy til we all know what her vagi-cat looks like.

At the end Nick says "this song is about me cause I am obsessed with this beautiful woman right here!!!!" Awwwww, cougar/teen love rocks!

Is It A Man's Job To Defend His Woman No Matter What??

In this brief clip from the Wendy Williams show, she offers commentary that says yes, it is a mans job to 'get at' anyone who comes at his woman, whether verbally or otherwise. She says Nick is pretty much being a lame and punking out with the bible scriptures and high schoolish twitter replies but says Mariah essentially started the mess that got the smack handed to the Cannons via Eminem's "Warning". So I mean, do you agree? what can Nick do really? I mean there is no rap he can conjure up that would top "Warning", so that's not an option. I guess I do kinda agree a little though, I might lose a lil respect for my man if he did absolutely nothing. Don't most women wanna feel safe and protected?
