Farewell Tyra!

Ms. Banks is following Oprah's lead and bowing out of the talk show circuit.  Banks is ending her show after 5 seasons.  Tyra told People magazine: "This will be the last season of The Tyra Show. I've been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years."  Tyra's moving on to focus on launching Bankable Studios, a film production company based in NYC.

Her 5th season wraps in the Spring of 2010.

Um, okay.  Goodbye then.

Oh, but America's Next Top Model will be back for a 15th season, starting in February.

Top Model Gets More Drag...

...and I love it!  Halfway through this season of America's Next Top Model, I considered chucking the deuces on the whole thing.  I got tired of the same formula and Tyra's antics.  Then, I read she's bringing some new blood to the show.  Some, new draaaaaaagg queenish blood.

The show is experiencing some of its lowest ratings ever.  So what's Ty Ty Baby to do?

Bring back that over the top Kimora Lee Simmons and drop a little Andre Leon Talley on dat azz, that's what she's gonna do.  Now, back in the day, word on the curb was that Tyra just couldn't get along with Kimora (or any other female judge, for that matter).  But, she's bringing Uncle Russell's old lady back to the show for the next cycle.

Andre Leon Talley will reportedly get the judging job currently held by Miss J Alexander.  Miss J will go back to her old gig of runway coach.

Let's just hope Miss Andre can get these girls some Vogue jobs.

Eh... who am I kidding.  They'll be selling weaves like the rest of them.

Tyra Loves Your Colon

Now, I'm all for the colonic.  Keeping your innards clean is a must.  But doing it on TV?  Uh, no.

Leave it to Ms. Banks to air someone's dirty laundry.  Tyra aired the first televised colonic on her show Friday.  Ewww.

Brew Bits: Nia Talks Weave With Chelsea Lately

She explains the kind of hair she's wearing to Chelsea and checks her on the issue of white people pretending to be clueless about weave. Nia says "oh no, trust, white women were wearing weave way before sisters!" She assures Chelsea that she doesn't hate her natural hair nor is she running from who she is, it's simply her choice to enhance her looks with hair extensions..... I fully expect Tyra Banks to jump from a tree any second now with a burning lace wig in her hand.........

Brew Bits: Tyra Beats Us in the Head Once Again on Larry King

Ok so Tyra seems to be on a "keeping it real" tour. She did Larry King and discussed her body, body image in general, her recent weight loss, her weave, black woman and their hair.....

She tells Larry "oh my Gawd!!! it was so liberating taking my weave off" hmmmmm, ok now look, I totally support the whole "I'm taking my hair hat off" thing but all this "oh my Gawd it's sooooo liberating" stuff is under my skin a bit. She's not a cancer survivor who decided to rock her baldy instead of wearing wigs, cut the chit Tyra! You took your weave out, and baby Jesus wept..... good grief.

And having Larry run a weave check with his hands all in your your scalp was too too much, got that man's hands all greasy with your Dax or Sulfur 8 grease! Gosh you get on my nerves sometimes Tyra!

WTF Files: Gay Exorcism on Tyra.......

Tyra is really hell bent on sending her show down the drain (not that I think it's quality tv in the first place). I mean really now...... *sigh*

I guess what I hate the most is the notion that gay is bad and it needs to be exorcised outta you, like excuse me????

The Economy Made Me Do It

We told you about Tyra’s firing of fellow supermodel Paulina Porizkova, well it turns out you can blame that firing on the e-e-e-economy.

The show's executive producers have released a statement saying Porizkova was let go because of "the current state of the economy [which] has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide." The show’s producers say they enjoyed working with Paulina though.

Hmmm. First Kimora, then Janice, then Twiggy, then Paulina…lest we forget Nole too? We don’t believe you Tyra, you need more people.
